I did quite a bit of research and liked many of the features for this machine. I also liked the pricetag of $99.99. The main selling point for me was the "extra long power cord". I live in a medium-small apartment and the cord on my last two Eurekas was just about 3 feet too short. The cord on this Bissell is at least 5 feet SHORTER than that. The suction is fine; as you'd expect from any brand new vacuum but the dust cup is quite small and needed to be emptied several times (like, 5 or 6) while I was vacuuming my apartment. With my old Eureka, I just emptied it when I was finished with the job. We do have three cats that contribute to the problem. My favorite thing about this Bissell is the handle on the hose. It detaches very easily and the extension wand is handy and clicks in place.I'd say, if you don't have pets and you don't mind changing outlets mid-job and... I don't have much carpet, but after seeing how much I picked up on the rug I vacuumed the whole house on the bare floor setting. The hose is also super easy to use and great for getting the hair in the tight spaces between the kitchen table and chair legs. I have two large dogs and keeping my floors clean is so much easier.
