When I ordered it my only concern was that it wasn't going to be wide enough to work comfortably with a laptop and attached monitor.It's plenty wide, and I like that the LCD mount can be moved to either side (set mounting points left middle and right). My only complaint with the LCD mount is that the monitor rotates very easily and I haven't been able to find a way to prevent that. Not a big deal, it doesn't move on its own but accidentally bumping the corner up will rotate the monitor at an angle. I can see it being helpful if you prefer or need to frequently rotate from horizontal to vertical position but for me it's more of a nuisance. The mount is very sturdy, and the desk in general is very sturdy. I could not find accurate measurements for this desk, so I printed the largest picture of it I could find and measured it for myself with the assumption that from the top of the monitor stand to the floor was 56".
